About Young Life (Mission Outreach)

Young Life is a nonprofit organization that works to bring high school students to Christ. It was first founded and established back in 1941 by Jim Rayburn in Gainesville, Texas.

The original purpose for Young Life was to be an outlet to reach high school kids that would otherwise not be reached and ministered to by the church. It was a plan to meet the kids where they were just like Jesus did. It consists of club events, campaigners (bible study), and big events like camp. These are all filled with fun activities alongside talking about faith and sparking conversations between kids.

Since its inception back in 1941, it has now reached over 100+ countries in the world. It has more than just high school ministry as well. It now reaches special needs kids (Young Life Capernaum), teen moms, and middle schoolers as well as some other groups. It has become one of the largest youth and outreach ministries in the entire world.
